Being an aussie, I'd never really heard of Rosa Parks. So i just did some self education. Pretty interesting stuff. But then again american history is fascinating stuff.
It's amazing when you think about it, that only 50 years ago a black woman was supposed to give up her seat for a white man on public transport. We've come a long way in such a short time. So much for when the witnesses say things are getting worse!

Yeah some witnesses are really screwed up when it comes to forms of physical contact. For alot of them anything other than a handshake could be seen as having sexual overtones and as a form of flirting. And all forms of affection between members of the opposite gender lead to sex. They're all so sexually stifled that they've become obsessed with it. DK *still an ear-lobe virgin* :D

There's a whole stack of issues that the witnesses have an answer for, but their given answer doesn't make much sense when you think about it. This is one of those things. I remember being told when i was young that they only carried swords to fight off wild beasts. Does anyone really believe that?? Like you drahcir i'm gobsmacked by the ridiculously dim-witted application of Romans 12:18 by the witnesses. Simply this scripture has nothing to do with self-defence. One thing i don't really understand is why jesus said what he did. Was he trying to tell his apostles they should never fight, not even to defend themselves? Yet the bible is full of divinely sanctioned forms of violence. I have a feeling that jesus was just stating the obvious, since if you commonly engage in violent actions there is a good chance that you could die by violent means, and jesus was just telling peter something like, "Put that sort away cause you're just gonna end up getting yourself killed." I wouldn't mind hearing some opinions from christians on what jesus was trying to say when he said what he did about those you take by the sword, will die by the sword. DK

If the WTS started off in Australia, do you think they would be different?
by inquirer inor do you think they would be still be demanding and cult like?
do you think they would be a little more laid back in australia?
there would possibly be someone with a similar name, a lot of irish people came to australia as well.

This is great to see!
Does this mean armageddon is close??
I'd just love to hear the watchtower spin on this one. Anyone heard what witnesses are saying about the apparent lack of growth in alot of countries? Usually you'd think that when the work is slowing down it means the harvest is complete and the end should be soon.
I'd love to see a comparison in the baptism of non-jws (non-jw parents) vs the growth of non jw-population in the world. Has anyone looked at this. I think this would clearly show that the longer god waits the more people he's gonna have to destroy at armageddon.

BEWARE OF MONOTHEISM
by frankiespeakin intaken from, the intelligence agents by dr. timothy leary, ph.d:.
beware of monotheism monotheism is the primitive religion which centers human consciousness on hive authority.
there is one god and his name is (substitute hive-label).

I agree with you tetrapod.
I guess the way leary worded it didn't make sense to me. He just makes it sound like the next evolutionary step precludes the idea of the existence of a higher being or beings. I believe the that evolutionary step should be open to any possibility and the recognition that the universe is bigger than just what our mind percieves.

I definitely agree with monotheism being a technology.
The major evolutionary step is taken when the individual says: "There is only one God who creates the universe. This God is my Brain.
But i find this above statement a bit wishy washy. Does he explain why this is a major evolutionary step?? It just seems to me to be a bit of empty rhetoric.
